According to Indian Metrological Department (IMD), Cyclone Biparjoy is heading towards costal areas of Indian state Gujarat. It is likely to hit area on Thursday, June 15, 2023, causing some serious damage to the vicinity.
To prevent damages, schools in the area of Gujarat will remain shut for two days.
Cyclone Biparjoy – Indian States Other Than Gujarat Under Threat.
The coastal areas that are likely to face the angry Biparjoy include Saurashtra, Kutch and Dawarka coasts. As per warning issued to different areas, the cyclone followed by heavy rainfall is likely to cause massive damage.
Some of the other areas in India, where cyclone can cause serious damages include:
Kachchh, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Morbi, Junagarh and Rajkot districts of Gujarat tomorrow.
High tide waves are also likely to hit business hub of India, Mumbai, as cyclone Biporjoy intensified.
Evacuation from the Areas:
Multiple Indian government agencies are working on implementation of evacuation plans. The CM of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel visited emergency control room. During his visit, he overviewed the situation and response of emergency teams deputed to tackle the hyper Biparjoy.
As per reports, emergency services include 17 teams of NDRF (National Disaster Response Force). Other than that, 12 teams SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) are also on high alert in different areas of Gujrat.
As per official reports, around 38,000 people have evacuated from the red alert issued coasts of Gujarat area till now.
Indian army has also joined relief operations with civil authorities.
Cyclone Biparjoy – Damage Likely to Occur:
Considering the severity of cyclone storm, it is likely to expect serious damage to power and communication system of area. Other than that, railways, seasonal crops and plantation projects can also face serious damage.
A report of Western Railways says, trains operating in the area of Gujarat will remain on halt for operational activities till June 15, 2023.

Other than Gujarat, states of India that are going to face heavy rain falls and cyclonic storms include: Karela, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Lakshadweep.

This cyclone, Biparjoy, which is heading towards Indian State Gujarat. With a speed of 150 kmph is going to be third cyclone making landfall in the State of Gujarat since 1965. The cyclone expects to remain in the area for two to three days between 15 -17 June and will move towards extreme south Rajasthan.
