The Pakistan hockey team, which secured a bronze medal at the Asian Champions Trophy in China, is still waiting to receive their daily allowances from the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB). The achievement has been clouded by the non-payment of promised allowances.
Sources reveal that the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) had committed to paying players Rs. 3,000 per day for domestic events and Rs. 35,000 for international events, but the payments have yet to be made. For 25 days, the entire team has been left without their daily allowances, while the federation remains unresponsive.
PHF officials had assured the players that payments would be made soon, but the players are still waiting and have requested authorities to intervene. They have also sought a meeting with federation officials to discuss the financial issue.
The players expressed that the financial strain is causing mental stress and affecting their on-field performance, urging the PHF to resolve the issue promptly. As of now, the PHF has not made any official statement on the matter.
